# How to successfully implement an LMS

If you want to ensure that your employees are always up to date and that your company remains successful, the use of a Learning Management System (LMS) or a T[alent Experience Platform (TXP) like Totara](https://blog.learnchamp.com/en/shaping-the-future-of-learning-with-totara?hsLang=en)can make a significant difference. In this blog article, we have compiled the key steps for the successful implementation of Totara in collaboration with LearnChamp.

- **Project Plan:** Before starting the implementation process, it is important to create a project plan together and establish a timeline. The plan should outline the purpose of the implementation, the expectations of you as our customer, and the required resources. This provides a clear overview of the effort required on both sides and ensures realistic expectations.
- **Solution Design:** In the next step, during a Solution Design workshop, the functionalities of Totara that are most important for your company will be explained, and your requirements for the LMS will be discussed. In this workshop, LearnChamp will provide guidance so that you can become familiar with necessary features and additional capabilities of Totara at this stage. Based on this, you can make informed decisions. The settings and preferences will be documented in the Solution Design, which will serve as a template for configuring the Totara instance by an Implementation Consultant from LearnChamp.
- **Admin Training:** Before handing over the system to customers, LearnChamp offers admin training to ensure optimal utilization of the platform. The Totara training is particularly suitable for future administrators who will independently manage the system.
- **UAT (User Acceptance Testing):** To ensure a smooth transition to working with the new system, LearnChamp offers a UAT phase after the training. During this phase, you will be asked to perform specific tests and workflows in the system within a given timeframe and send us any questions you may have. This allows us to address any remaining issues through our Jira Ticket System or through follow-up training.

- **Customer Success:** The final step involves monitoring the usage of Totara to ensure that the system delivers the desired results. It is important to gather regular feedback from users to further adapt the system and ensure that the learners' needs are met.
